Oh Just Some Things

Let's chat a minute. Right now, I'm snuggled on the couch in my new favorite NASCAR sweatshirt as my freshly bathed pup sleeps beside me. I just made a hot cup of my favorite pumpkin coffee. I have on game 2 of the Cardinals/Washington battle of the NLDS. My other half is gone helping coach a little league game and I find myself extremely grateful for this evening and its simplicity, it's normalcy.

As more time passes that we are home, the more like a normal marriage I feel we have. This past week we hung pictures in our living room. Most of them were gifts for our wedding which was nearly a year ago, finally some progress. Saturday morning we headed to the flea market, then napped all afternoon and I made a junky meal of macaroni and hot wings and we watched Avengers. Sunday we normally head to church, but this week we headed to my very first NASCAR race and I will tell you I fell in love. It's not like any other sporting event and I'll share more on that this week at some point.

I felt guilty all weekend about never reopening shop like I said I would on Friday. I am starting to let that guilt slip away. Some how each time I feel ready to try again to make my handmade business work, I get feelings of doubt. I question myself and if I have what it takes to do all of it on my own. The sewing I can do. I can package and ship items. I can even photograph them and list them online. But doing it all is extremely challenging.

CARDS WIN! The Voice it is. Man I love this show.

Back to what I was saying. It's hard work and I'm the one to have to do it. For right now, again like I've said before, maybe online selling is not for me. Even though I always think I can do it and talk myself into it, it just never feels right. With Christmas right around the corner there are several local holiday boutiques and I feel like that is where I should spend focus my time. I just hope you all know that if you ever want or need something you've seen before, don't hesitate to ask.

Finally, our pup. Words can't describe my little fur ball best friend. I flipping LOVE him! I tell him several times a day and I always find myself asking Brandon if he thinks Tag knows how much we love him. I sure hope he knows. I love that he follows me everywhere and even helps with laundry. I prayed for this little guy. As we were searching for a puppy I remember asking for the perfect little dog for our family and I'm positive he is our answered prayer.

That's all my friends. Check back for thoughts and pictures on Talladega!

More Travel

Hey y'all. I can say y'all today because I'm headed to Alabama today. Roll Tide. This is a half business/half fun little trip. Business because the main reason I am going is to drive back my vehicle that my parent's are taking from us. Right now they have one car with air conditioning and one without. When I get back they will both have the luxury that is cool air on these hot summer days. To break up the ten hour drive, I will be stopping in Memphis for two nights to see Brandon. I originally was gonna skip trying to see him because it was a short three game series at home. It all worked out though and I'm taking care of two birds with one stone. Don't worry no animals will actually be harmed although last week I did hit a bird in Big Blue. It's fault, not mine. I'm going on a few hours of sleep because I decided at 11 p.m. I needed a new tote/purse. It was worth it. Sorry to leave you hanging, I know your probably excited to see the new bags. Truth be told I have travel plans up until the 12th so I can't give you a date they will be available. I decided my life comes first and enjoying time being with my husband, friends, and family needs to be first priority. Also since I never schedule posts I don't know when I'll be stopping by here but I guess that's fun for you because you'll be surprised! Time to hop on the plane! Have a spectacular week awesome folks!! LD

Sweet Home Alabama [For 1 Day]

I'm in Alabama today and I can't help but be super grateful I made it. We had been experienceing a few difficulties with my vehicle. Actually as we started the car yesterday morning to begin my journey...it died before we even took it out of park. Ha Ha. Not funny April fool's joker whoever you are. I mean that's usually not a good sign. I dropped my man off at the field and he checked the fluids just to be sure it all looked okay. I ventured off on my own driving from south Florida to central Alabama.

As the trip started off I realized that the steering wheel kept catchin and pulling either to the right or the left. We knew it had done this the past week or so after we go the new tires and the alignment. It happened a lot. If you were driving behind me you would think that I was texting and driving. I wasn't. Okay I did have my phone out once to take a picture of the Alabama sign BUT mostly I was swerving because my car was acting up. My left hand was tired about three hours in from gripping the wheel. I was pretty scared and nervous.

This morning my father-in-law took my car into the shop and what do you know another $700 repair bill. I say another because less than two weeks ago we had to put new tires on the vehicle. Also right before we left for Florida, we had a few hundred dollars of repairs for something else. We have decided we are going to sell or trade it in sometime this summer or this offseason. Thankfully we have a second vehicle that we purchased this past fall and that will become our traveling vehicle. Secretly I know Brandon is super excited to be driving his baby again. What's with guys and their trucks...a mystery.

This is the beautiful view where we live. We hope to build a house back there someday. It's super nice to be back for a few days. No city. No traffic. No kids screaming. It's pretty glorious.

On a totally different note - Jen is having her fundraising giveaway today - click here! There are some great prizes like -- any one item from MY SHOP! I think if you would enter this giveaway with the normal requirements like a comment of a follow... you should hand over one dolla for an entry. Obviously money doesn't grow on trees, or if it does I have yet to find the seeds to plant in my yard. It's one dollar. Four quarters. AND if 200 people enter 1 dollar thats helping Jen towards her goal. At least hink about it. OR if you don't want to win any of the prizes you can still donate some moo-lah. But the prizes are fabulous.

I'm off to have a glass of sweet tea and enjoy some of the south before things get to crazy again tomorrow and the rest of the week. Enjoy your day.

BCS Champions

Here's the dealy-o.

I am a midwestern gal.
Graduate and Alum to the University of Missouri.

I married a southern boy.
Born and raised Alabama fan.

In Alabama you have to choose.
When I moved here I remember that being the most common question I was asked.
"Are you an Alabama or Auburn fan?"
Neither - Mizzou (they had not a clue what Mizzou is)

Until now..when the University of Missouri decided to join the SEC.
Suddenly my Mizzou apparel that used to go unnoticed is now noticed.

Now around the house he might sport his Mizzou shirt (kudos to my brothers for hooking him up)
I wear my Alabama shirt.

I'll cheer for the ol Crimson Tide.
I'll be a good sport because I find it funny when my husband yells at the TV which doesn't happen often.
I do this because these southerners LIVE and DIE for their football.
And because it makes him happy.
I even went to the trouble of decorating our mantle with the Tide's colors, this year.
Next year I will find a way to incorporate some black and gold.

Don't mind the stache, its covering a hole.

Congrats again to the Crimson Tide.
And to the state of Alabama for defending the title for the last three years.

We already have HUGE plans for October 13.
We will be at the Missouri/Alabama game.g
I will be wearing my black and gold
He will be wearing his crimson and white.
A household divided.
