Spring Camp

Hello! I'm sorry I've been away for the past week or more. Last I told you was that Brandon flew south for spring camp. The team left on the 26th and flew to the island of Miyakojima, Okinawa.  He is on the very south bottom part of the island, ignore the red pin.

This is his view. Just awful isn't it? Sadly, I won't be able to enjoy any of this awesomeness.

He says the air conditioners are not very high powered and that it gets pretty toasty in his room. The internet is also not very fast paced either, but we are making it work and we actually get to communicate more than I thought. Just really late hours for me most the time.

I'll give you an idea of what his days are like. Practiced officially opened on February 1. He usually wakes up between 6:30/7 (US 3:30/4 p.m.) for breakfast. Then he catches a bus to practice around 8:20. They are very punctual and most the time the bus leaves before scheduled. Good thing he is always early. They practice for a few hours then they break for lunch around 12/1 (US 9/10 p.m.). After lunch is afternoon drills and practice or games finishing up around 4 (US 1a.m.). Once practice is over they go back to hotel get swim trunks then head to the pool or hot spring for water exercises and cool down time. One night last week he finished his day around 7 (US 4am). He is definitely worn out but enjoyed his first off day yesterday. I know practices are harder than they used to be here in the US.

I know this all may sound boring and probably doesn't answer a lot of questions. Most the time when we chat we don't talk about practice but more about what I've been doing to keep busy and what Tag has been up to.

We are in Missouri now. My mom flew down to AL last Wednesday and we did some major projects around the house. I'll show you that in another post later this week. It sure helped a whole week without him pass pretty quick. We drove up Tuesday and I'll be visiting family and friends here to help pass some time. I leave to go to Japan on the third so until then I'll try to do my best to keep you informed on all that is going on.

Some other fun things you all may enjoy. Here is his interview from the media day. It doesn't let you hear the questions but its neat to hear his answers none the less.

Here is a video that has just two little clips of him. #32. He is smiling so that makes me really happy.
