Dog Dilemma Part II

It's time to update you on our dog dilemma, we aren't getting one [insert disappointed awwww here]. Over the past couple of days I would pretend we had a dog. I would be getting ready to leave the house and say, "c'mon girl time to go out," then she proceeded to fart around in the yard NOT going to the bathroom to make us late. In this pretend world where we got a dog she also chewed threw the cord of our Christmas tree lights, peed on a very important craft project and woke me in the middle of the night to go out.

That being said -- no dog. We are planning on getting one as soon as the 2012 season ends. This way we will have time to spend getting her used to us at our house. It will also give me time to find the most adorable dog ever. For now the only cute cuddly thing in this household will be the Mr.

I got some pretty cool new toys already for Christmas so I'm thinking that's what helped me change my mind, that and the terrible pretend dog we had.

Dog Gone Dilemma

Look at these cute faces.

I apologize in advance because now I have left you wanting one too.
If I haven't, it's because you already have an adorable slobbery hound OR you just got one in the last few days and have been posting sweet photos all over the internet.

I'm not sure why the craving came about to add a member to our very new family this week.
I like to think I'm logical in most of our major decisions, weighing the pros and cons.
We will be traveling quite a bit which makes me question how great of parents to a dog we would be.
On the other hand when Brandon is out of town on road trips we could snuggle up in bed and watch chick flicks or you can keep me company while I work on signs.

Huge dilemma.

Two years ago we visited a friend couple of ours in Texas. While we were there Brandon's buddy bought a Siberian Husky, the breed of dog Brandon has always wanted. I could see the look on his face and how bad he wanted a dog. I don't know who is cuter in this pic!

But we walked away and decided that we needed to wait until we lived together in the same place so there would always be one of us around for the pup.

While waiting, we enjoy these fur balls of the family. Brandon had/has a cocker spaniel named Simmone. He got signed shortly after and so his grandmother and granddad adopted her. She now lives next door and before Papa passed he had her spoiled rotten and WAY overweight. Poor girl. She still loves Brandon and knows she is his but she knows Papa isn't around and is still grieving.

We have had a dog for as long as I remember. Schnauzers. This is Rudy. We got him on Christmas Eve 1997. He is still with us at my parents house. Sadly his hearing is starting to go among other things. I will be devastated when I get that phone call that he is in dog heaven. We also have another dog at home, Dozer, that's my brothers dog and my parents adopted him.

I won't forget Buoy. My sister and her husband's beautiful black lab who loves visiting grandma's house to play with Rude-man and Doze. He also enjoy's long car rides, walks on the beach, chasing our cat Posh, and rawhide bones.

But apparently this isn't cutting it.

Here we are two years later living in the same place and married.

I'm torn.

Truthfully I'm not sure how this story ends.

Next Window Please

After my wonderful tooth extraction extravaganza I headed over to the Corner of the Circle's to do some playing! Here is what we made. She has some goods I want and I have some goods she wants, so we worked together. I'm extremely thrilled to be helping her out! She is having her very first booth at a craft fair this November and I hope theses babies sell like hotcakes. There are several more windows that are in the making and they are going to be SO cute, just in time for the holidays.

If I am back in STL next ball season (fingers crossed) I have a feeling we will be spending lots of time together. Between the old antiques and sweet vintage pieces of decor she finds and some of my minor crafty mechanics we could create for dayyyyyys. Until that happens I will just have to be inspired from afar and establish what she is doing on a minor scale in the south.

With a Twist

If I come across an idea and I know I can create something similar, I usually don't waste any time. If you follow me on Pinterest you will see this on my Make It board. It is fun to take something you see and put a twist on it, making it your own. Some twists work better than others but its fun to experiment sometimes at the cost of frustration along the way. Trial and error is not optional in creating. Have a little looksy.

I'm sure you'll see these again maybe in a little shop I've tried starting twice, third times a charm. You know football season is just around the corner, I'm thinking some school pride color combos. MIZ..... anybody, anybody? Well okay then. Go Tigers!

Dear Future Husband

Tonight I am not loving being five hours or more away from you because who knows what city or state you are playing in now. I could name ten things right off the bat we could be doing this summer. You would also need to have a different job that did not require you to work pretty much every summer day and night providing others with their entertainment.

But you do have a job (thankful) that is going to provide for our future (thank you) that you love playing (bonus for you) and is fun (bonus for us) and you get to wear a uniform (bonus for me) that lets us meet lots of friends (bonus for them). Just kidding on the last one. No really though we are fun to hang out with aren't we? Remember last year we went to the movies with three other couples, now it is just you and me. How did that happen? I digress...

What I am trying to say is although that list below is really really appealing, I'll enjoy those five hour rides on 55. I will enjoy it so we can spend the weekend together. Half of it you're at work, a quarter of it we spend sleeping, and the other quarter I spend cooking so you do not have to eat the fine clubhouse cuisine, doing your laundry you tell me NOT to do, and squeezing in as many possible hugs and kisses.

One day it won't be like this. So for now I realize it could be a lot worse. I am thankful it isn't. We are learning to love one another through the distance and challenges. We are growing closer even though we are far apart. We are hopefully helping others realize they are blessed to have the summer months to spend doing fun activities with ones they love. So here is the list of things that will probably bum you out that we can't do unless we do them at extremely strange hours of the day or on our own without one another.

1. Go hit golf balls at the driving range
2. Sit/walk by the lake
3. Hang out by the pool
4. BBQ
5. Shoot guns
6. Go fishing
7. Go out for ice cream
8. Have a camp fire with S'mores
9. Go camping at the beach
10. Take a float trip

Looking forward to our next short visit, whenever that may be. Maybe we can BBQ some breakfast kabobs.

Love

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I was telling you about the blogosphere and all their giveaways? You will never believe one of the first times I enter I WIN! We'll I thought I won one of these handy dandy machines.

This baby costs around three hundred dollars that I don't have. It ain't cheap so I was so stinking excited.  I {Heart} Nap Time sponsored a giveaway of Silhouette products. As I read down one Monday a few weeks ago I discovered I was the winner of just the EtchAll Glass Etch Cream from Silhouette. I admit I was slightly disappointed, for two seconds. Who cares? I won. I never win stuff. I received my package in the mail yesterday and even though it wasn't the high tech machine I was still excited! I love packages! I was even MORE excited when I opened to find all this additional stuff.

Silhouette - Universal Scraper
Silhouette - Premium Vinyl
Silhouette - Premium Transfer Paper
Silhouette - Etch All

Whammy!
THANKS SILHOUETTE and I {Heart} Nap Time

I promise I will be showing you what I decide to make with my EtchAll cream. Thankfully my mom uses and has a program and cutter for vinyl I can use until I can win my silhouette. Giveaways are going on this week on a few of my favorite blogs and I hoping to go two for two on winning giveaways.

Also it is Peony season which is quick and you will miss it if you're not aware. I just want to share these gorgeous flowers. So full, luxurious, and sadly not blooming in November or on clearance. Ha Ha. Otherwise I would have flowers taken care of for the big day. Did I mention they smell like heaven?
